TGS Global, A Global Opportunity

A new accounting network targeting entrepreneurial firms that are focused on international expansion has been launched.
TGS global has been formed to meet the needs of an increasing number of accounting firms that want to be part of a business development-focused network helping members to target and win multi-national clients. It has already attracted leading accounting firms around the world and continues it's rapid expansion.

TGS global has been set up with James Frost as CEO, who draws upon his experience gained within a leading mid-tier network, 'We are seeing many companies that are looking to be more internationally engaged - even if they want to continue their local growth, these companies have to be able to offer clients and prospective clients an international solution.'

The opportunities that international expansion offers are increasingly accessible thanks to increasing globalisation and ease of doing business overseas, and more companies are recognising the benefits that can be gained from economies of scale and by entering new markets.

Typical TGS global member firms will have a proven track record of growth and quality, be proactive in marketing and preferably have partners with a Big 4 background. It is targeting the g20 and significant inward investment countries, and has already had a large number of applications from these countries. Key attributes that potential members should be able to demonstrate included growth, quality, services offered and an entrepreneurial dynamism.

We recognised the opportunity to build a network where all the members are looking to achieve a similar goal. So key for us is to ensure that all our members have a commonality of values, a quality approach and a proactive vision,' adds Frost.

Marc Desjardins, a senior partner from the tgs member in France, Soregor on asked why they decided to join TGS responded:

'There are many international networks available today but most of them are compiled of businesses working together through referrals and handoffs; our clients, and the success of our clients is important to us and we wanted to create a network where there was a seamless integration of experts that are as invested in the success of our clients as we have always been. TGS is unique in that we have a network of firms, around the world, that share the same vision, values and interest in helping companies successfully develop on a global scale.'

TGS global aims to advise member firms throughout the key stages of their international development, including education on international opportunities, developing key marketing and business development tools, as well as the international brand and help them provide support to clients to prepare them to take advantage of international opportunities. It operates on a flat structure to encourage knowledge and ideas- sharing among members.

Ian Cocks, the managing partner for Taylor Cocks in the UK stressed the importance of developing a new business development focused network for his firm.

'Globalisation is not just a buzz word. It is a real phenomenon, which has only just started to play out. To understand it fully and benefit from its huge potential, we need relationships with like-minded firms around the world. We have a huge amount to learn from other network members, both technically and commercially.

If our clients are to succeed on the global stage, they must be able to tap in to the best advice available in their chosen markets. They will, rightly, be looking to us to introduce them to 'best in class' local service providers and this is what we want to achieve through TGS', Frost added;

'The accounting profession faces many challenges over the next years, adoption of internationally recognised quality standards, possible separation of services, vying for ranking position, succession and development are just some of these. TGS global will provide members with access to the latest thinking in all these areas so our member accountants and tax advisors can deliver credible solutions in these areas.'
